- This research aims to design an accounting information system of basic material inventory in accordance with the needs of PT. Surya Mitra Bangun. This research is a qualitative research with applied method or development. This research was conducted at PT Surya Mitra Bangun dan the object was all things related to accounting information systems of basic material inventory at PT. Surya Mitra Bangun. Technique analysis that was used is system analysis, system design and system implementation. The Data collection was done by survey, interview and observation. The collected data was then processed and analyzed to answer questions in the problem statement. The results of this research is the information systems used by PT. Surya Mitra Bangun is still manual. The Design of accounting information systems of basic material inventory consists of three analytical techniques those are, first analysis system, system design using Microsoft Access 2016 software and implementation of the system begins with preparation of place, time, software and hardware, selecting and training the employee, and testing the system. At the time of checking and testing accounting information systems of basic material inventory have been proven were able to provide information needed by certain parties in the form of goods order reports, Purchase reports, purchase returns reports, basic material expenditure reports, transaction and inventory reports, employee reports and supplier reports. The results of the implementation of the system are more effective time in managing data, more efficient in data presentation, safer data stored in databases, saving costs because of the transition from bookkeeping to the computer, miscalculating the amount of basic material was resolved and faster in making decisions.
