  • MUHAMAD HADI. Analysis of Factors Affecting Student Interest in a Career as Public Accountants. Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, 2020. This research was conducted in order to obtain empirical evidence about the factors that influence student interest in a career as a public accountant. This research uses primary data by distributing questionnaires to the sample. The sample of this research is D3 and S1 accounting students who visit or internships at the public accounting firm. The sampling technique is accidental sampling and the number of respondents is 46. To test the hypothesis, multiple linear regression analysis is used with a significance level of 5%. Based on the results of data processing, it can be concluded that financial rewards and work environment as external factors have a positive effect on students' interest in working as public accountants. Meanwhile, the labor market considerations do not affect students' interest in working as public accountants. Personality as an internal factor has a positive effect on student interest in a career as a public accountant. With a determination coefficient value of 0.670 or 67%, the independent variable is used to explain the dependent variable. Meanwhile, the remaining 0.330 or 33% is explained by other variables not used in this study.
