The aim of this research is to obtain empirical data, valid and reliable fact concerning wheter or not there is correlation between emotional intelligence with achievement motivation at student X grade of SMK Negeri 48 Jakarta. This research conducted of Marketing Class, SMK Negeri 48 Jakarta. During 5 months counted from August 2011 until December 2011. The research used survey method with approach of correlation. Technique intake of used sample that is proportional sampling. The population were Student of X grade of Marketing Class amount 61 students. From the reached population amount reached the taken as sample amount 51 students. Data analysis by using sample of population table Isaac & Michael with sampling error 5%. To get data from two variables, researcher using likert scale model for Emotional Intellegence (X variable) and Achievement Motivation (Y variable). For variable X from 38 statements which had validated, 32 statements were valid and 6 statements were drop. For variable Y from 32 statements which had validated, 28 statements were valid and 4 statement were drop. The calculation reliability of both variables were using Alpha Cronbach method and variable X reliability is 0.913 and variable Y reliability is 0.950. This proof that the instruments were valid and reliable. Analysis of condition test, which is normality error test for regression approximates of X on Y with liliefors test, results in Lcount = 0.120, and Ltable for n=51 with significance of 0.05 is 0.124, because Lcount < Ltable then normality error test is normal distribution. The equation for linear regression is Ŷ=41.88+0.523X. Significance regression result in Fcount > Ftable is 20.99 > 4.04, its mean that the regression equation is significant. And linearity regression test yield, in Fcount < Ftable is 0.60 < 2.15 that can be interpreted that the regression equation is linear. Result of hypothesis test with Pearson’s Product Moment shows that rxy = 0.548, then significance of product moment correlation is tested with t-test which yields tcount= 4.58 and ttable = 1.68. It can be result that product moment correlation rxy = 0.548 is significant. Coefficient of determined obtained equal to 29.99%, its mean that 29.99% variations of achievement motivation by emotional intelligence. Result of the calculation concludes that there is positif correlation between emotional intelligence with achievement motivation at student X grade of SMK Negeri 48 Jakarta.
