The study aims to obtain empirical data and the fact that legitimate, valid and reliable regarding the relationship between academic achievement and self-esteem of college student. This research was conducted over two months starting from April 2012 until may 2012. The research method used is observation method with the correlational approach. With a population of 80 affordable and taken a sample of 65 persons. Sampling was based on the chart to determine the number of samples from a particular population with a level of 5% error. The sampling technique in this study is simple random sampling. For those variables used to capture data questionnaire likert scale model for the self-esteem (Y variables) and academic achievement (X variables). Before the instruments used, the construct validity for the variable Y was tested. The result, from 49 point statement variable Y that has been validated as much as 35 grains statement declared invalid the remaining 14 points drop. Result of reliability by using Cronbach Alpha formula for the variabel X = 0,944. Simple linear regression equation Y= 126,2492 + 1,4495X analysis of test requirement to test the normality of the estimated error of regression of Y on X shows that the error in the estimated regression of Y on X have normal distribution. Thi is evidence by calculations showing, that L value (0,0720) > L table (0,1090) using the Test Liliefors in significant level (a) = 0,05. In hypothesis testing, regression test of significance and linearity using the Table Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). From the results obtained by the regression significance test F value = (0,1901) < F table (4,00) which states that the regression is not significant. From regression linearity test results obtained F value = (1,0863) < F table = (1,80) which indicates that the model used is linear regression. From the result of regression, it can be concluded that there was no significant relation between academic achievement and self-esteem of college student of accounting education 2011, Faculty of Economy, Universitas Negeri Jakarta.
