This study aims to determine the secretarial duties as well as any problems encountered in it. In this thesis the writer uses the descriptive analysis by the methods of collecting data through observation and literature study. Based on the observation that the author looks at the effectiveness of the secretary's office on the Human Capital Division of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Limited), tbk is not optimal yet, it can be seen from the following indications of a problem as lack of skills of secretaries on the implementation of routine secretarial duties, lack of expertise in using time efficiently as well as facility is inadequate in handling the phone. Therefore, it is recommended that the secretary was chosen based on their secretariat educational background, given the need for training or education on the implementation of secretarial duties, the need for expertise in using time efficiently, and the secretary should make a phone message sheets and a list of extension numbers.
