SELVI FEBRINA, The Correlation between Conformity with Consumtive Behaviour in Students of Faculty of Economics at State University of Jakarta, Thesis. This research was conducted in students of Faculty of Economics at State University of Jakarta for 3 (three) months, commenced from October to December 2014. The used method is a survey method with a correlation approach. The population in this study is all students of the Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta. Affordable population in this study is the first year students of the Faculty of Economics, amounting to 695 people. The used sampling technique is simple random sampling technique. The taken sample shows that 15% from the total of affordable population is 105 people. Based on a model equation of simple linear regression, it produces the regression form of Y = 22,65+0,821X. Next, analysis requirement test is to test error normality of regression estimation of Y on X with liliefors test. It concludes that the error
estimation of regression of Y on X is distributing normal. This is proved by an estimation showing Lcount (0,065) < L (0,086). A testing hypotesis with significance test of regression obtains Ftable count (81,02) > F (3,94) stating that the regression matters, and linearity test of regression producing Ftable (0,956) < F (1,63). Coefficient test of correlation with product moment formula produces rxy as big as 0,664. Then, significance test of correlation coefficient by using ttest produces ttable count (9,00) > t (1,67). So, it can be summarised that there is a
positive correlation between conformity with consumtive behaviour in students of the Faculty of Economics at State University of Jakarta. Coefficient test of determination produces rxy2 as big as 0,4403. This shows that variabel variance of Y is determined by the variabel of X.
