- ABSTRACT RENA YULIANA. The Effect of Wage and Education Level on Labor Productivity in Indonesian Manufacturing Sector. This study aims to determine whether the level of wages and education levels have an influence on labor productivity of the manufacturing industry in Indonesia . The method used in this study is in the form of time series of the year 2009 – 2011 and the cross section amounts to 33 provinces in Indonesia , with an ex post facto method. Data are presented each year obtained from BPS (Central Bureau of Statistics ). Data analysis method used is panel data regression model. From the results of hypothesis testing and analysis obtained that: (a) wage rates have a significant effect in the negative direction on labor productivity in the manufacturing sector in Indonesia, and (b) the level of education does not significantly affect labor productivity in the manufacturing sector in Indonesia . R2 value of 0,97 indicates that 97% of labor productivity of the manufacturing industry in Indonesia can be explained by the two independent variables wage rates and education levels..
