Skripsi, Jakarta: Study Program of Economics Education, Concentration of Office Administration Education, Department of Economics and Administration, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, 2012. The purpose of this research is to get a valid and reliable data or fact, to know more the correlation between affective commitment with absenteeism on employees of PT. Jakarta Cakratunggal Steel Mills East Jakarta. The research healed at PT Jakarta Cakratunggal Steel Mills for three months since November 2011 until January 2012. The method of research use survey method with correlation approach. The population research was all of employees with total 638 employees. The reached population about 126 employees, with 95 employees for sampling and used proportional random sampling. Collecting X variable data (Affective Commitment) using likert scale model questionnaire. Before that it has content validity test by validation process, that is correlation coefficient valuing score with the total score and reliability test using Alpha Cronbach formula. The analysis test by finding regression equation, that is Y = 16,10 - 0,231 X. After that data normally test by using Liliefors formula and the result is L = 0,047 in significant level 0,05 and L table = 0,091, so L count < L table count . It mean that the mistake of prediction regression Y to X has normal distribution. For regression significance test and the result is F count (21,04) > F (3,96). Showing that, it has significance regression. While regression linearity test, F table count (0,79) < F (1,72), showing that regression is linear. The result of product moment of correlation coefficient test, is r =- 0,430 continued by using correlations coefficient significance test with t-test. Counting result, t xy count = -4,59 while t = -1,67 and so, t count < t table table table . It means that there are significance correlations between affective commitment with absenteeism. Besides that, the result of determination coefficient is 18,45%, it means that absenteeism variable determined by 18,45% affective commitment variable. The conclusion of the research have shown that there is a correlation between affective commitment with absenteeism on employees of PT Jakarta Cakratunggal Steel Mills East Jakarta.
