Undergraduate thesis, Jakarta: Study of Economic Education, Concentration of cooperative Education, Economics and Administration Department, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, December 2015. This thesis aims to analyse whether there is a positive relationship between the effectiveness of a library and learning interest to study economics in public high school 50 Jakarta. This particular research was conducted within a three month period, starting from May to July 2013. Research methodology employed was correlational survey using a correlational approach. Furthermore, proportional random sampling was applied as a sampling technique. The author hypothesised that there is a positive relationship between the effectiveness of a library and learning interest to study economics. As such, the effectiveness of a library will be parallel with students’ learning interest. In other words, library effectiveness goes hand in hand with students’ desire to learn. Such hypothesis was then analysed by using Karl Pearson’s product moment test and t-test to determine the correlation between both variables and the coefficient of determination to ascertain how variable x contributes o variable y. In conclusion, this research has proven that there is a positive relationship between the effectiveness of a library and learning interest to study economics. It was also evidenced that though coefficient of correlations, students’ learning interest was determined by the effectiveness of a library. Keywords : effectiveness of a library, students’ learning interest, economics
