  • Dragon fruit is a horticultural commodity which has been known recently for its cultivation and farming in Indonesia. This study aimed to determine the effect of different lengths of cuttings on the growth of seedlings of dragon fruit plants. This research was conducted in Sidera village located 250 m above sea level. The study was conducted in March to May 2017. The research was arranged in a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with seven treatments and three replicates. Parameters observed were time of bud appearance, bud length, and number of buds. Results showed that the length of the cuttings significantly affected the length and the number of the buds. Longest bud was generated by the 45 cm cuttings while higher bud number was produced by the cutting with the lengths ranging from 15 cm to 35 cm.
