  • This study aimed to determine the resistance of several local upland rice cultivar resistances to various levels of water avaibality, to find local upland rice which had better growth and to find the level of water status that could reduce the growth of upland rice. This research was conducted at the Agrotecnology Green House, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University Palu. This research was conducted from August 2017 to Jaunary 2018. This research was a two-factorial randomized block design. The first factor was various local rice upland cultivars i.e. Kalendeng, Tagolu, Logi, and Uva Buya, The second factor was different water availability levels i.e field capacity (FC), 75% FC, 50% FC, and 25% FC. Kalendeng Cultivar was found to grow well only at FC water content, Tagolu and Uva Buya cultivars down to 75% FC, and Logi Cultivar was able to grow well even at drier condition down to 50% FC. Tagolu and Logi cultivar grow better compared to other cultivars.
