  • Theory of translation, in particular translation techniques, is a way to overcome the problem of translation at the level of words, phrases, sentences, and paragraphs. However, not all translators understand the importance of mastering the theory of translation; they assume the maturity of a translator merely relies on experience or flying hours. Translation techniques in principle provide theoretical skills to the young translators, especially the students of English Department. This is a qualitative descriptive study and is a case study upon the effectiveness of teaching the techniques of translation in producing reliable young translators. The data collection uses the methods of observation, interviews, and documentation, on two groups of students of the English Department, both of which are the theoretical and non-theoretical students. The scale of the readability, the acceptability, and the naturalness of the Target Text (TT) or the result of the translation will be analyzed and assessed through the concept of correctness and the dynamic equivalence.
