- This term paper discusses about translation strategy of slang expressions in The After Party using Mona Baker's theory. More specifically, the studies analyzes any strategies used in translating of slang expression from the source language to the target language. This term paper is a qualitative descriptive study, this type of research analyzes data consisting of slang words in The After Party as the main source. The strategy translation of slang expressions in this movie have high degree of equivalence indicated by frequency of equivalent meaning compared to nonequivalent one. The implication was that the slang expressions used in the movie were successfully transferred in terms of meaning to the TL, thus made them readable by the audiences.
