- Gaharu or agarwood or sandalwood is a beneficial crop which is exploited as a material for making many products, such as perfume, air refreshment, hio (praying equipment for Buddhist and Kong Hu Cu), drugs and some beauty products. Economically, gaharu trading contributes to foreign exchange as well as improves prosperity of society. Sandalwood is formed through the interaction between gaharu and its pathogen. There are many species of pathogen which is based on gaharu crop’s type. Therefore, this research was aimed to identify the type of gaharu pathogen by following postulat koch technique. The result of this research found 5 types of pathogen interacted with gaharu in Papua region (Manokwari, Sorong, Yapen Waropen and Jayawijaya), namely Cochliobolus spp, Fusarium spp., Fusarium Lateritium, and Trichoderma spp.
