Evaluasi Tingkat Serangan Hama PBK (Conopomorpha cramerella Snellen ) Akibat Penerapan Metode PsPSP di Kampung Anggrisi Distrik Manokwari Selatan Kabupaten Manokwari

  • Papua Province as one of the mass planting area have potential land and climate to cacao plant. Until 2000 its known that  extend of cacao planting is 24.490 ha with production  average to reach 13.830 ton dry seed in a year (Anonimous, 2001). Cacao planting in Manokwari regency distributed in 11 district  with total of cacao area is 3.084,58 ha. In 2001 cacao plant is rise to reach 284.52 ha where Manokwari (908.69 ha) have largest cacao plantation than other district, Oransbari (513.48 ha), Ransiki (452.41 ha) and Amberbaken (261.92 ha). Cacao production is 375 kg/ha (Soenarto and Kambuaya, 2002) it is lower. The low production is because of  pest of cocoa pod. The one of the methode control which is easy to do, chip, environment save and suitable to the people with low education. The PsPSP is the method that coorporated some agriculture action as like harvest frekuently, cut off, fertilizer, and sanitation. The method have been applicated in cacao plantation in some areas in Indonesia  while in Manokwari the method was applicaton in Oransbari District and Manokwari District. Whereas in South Manokwari District the method was applicated in some village among Anggrisi village. What the effectiveness the method can control the pest of cocoa pod, not yet known exactly.
