- Introduction: Andrographolide is an active compound from Andrographis paniculata which is very potent as an antihyperglicemic agent. Andrographolide crystal has very low solubility in water. This properties inhibited oral dissolution dan reduce absorbtion rate of andrographolide. Objective: The aim of this study was to enhance dissolution of andrographolide by dispersion solid using PVP K-30. Methods: Three weight ratio of andrographolide to PVP K-30 being used are 1:1, 1:2, and 1;5. Physical mixture were made in equivalent weight ratio. Results: Solid dispersion characterized by dissolution in phosphat buffer pH 7,4 and different thermal analysis. Based on thermogram, there was an altering of andrographolide form, from crystalline to amorphous state. Conclusion: Compared with physical mixture, the solid dispersion give the higher dissolution rate of the drug, and the proportion 1:2 give the better result.
