  • PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to understand the relationship between organizational culture with organizational citizenship behavior either direct relationship or indirect relationship through bureaucratic behavior.  METHODS  : A survey approach is the design of this research. Sources of data in the study came from nurses of four Islamic hospitals in Medan City. These data were obtained by distributing questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed by using a path analysis which is a type of multivariate statistic. FINDINGS : The results of this study indicate that organizational culture has a positive and significant influence on bureaucratic behaviour; organizational culture has a positive and significant influence on organizational citizenship behaviour; bureaucratic behaviour has a positive and significant influence on organizational citizenship behaviour; and the influence of organizational culture on organizational citizenship behaviour is not mediated by bureaucratic behaviour.
