- It is important to students to know about what is a distance learning system when they study at an open university. This study aims to (1) learn about the knowledge level of Universitas Terbuka (UT) students to the distance learning system implemented at UT (2) identify the factors related to the knowledge level of UT’s students to the distance learning system implemented. The research method used for this study was descriptive-corelational. This study was conducted at Banda Aceh regional office center or is known as Unit Program Belajar Jarak jauh (UPBJJ) Banda Aceh. The student population for this study were 7551, and sample students taken were 380. Data were collected from May to October 2011. The research showed that (1) the knowledge level of UT students at UPBJJ Banda Aceh was low (2) factors related to the knowledge level of UT’s students to the distance learning system were internet, group of study, and accesibility to the information.
