Ali Ashari, M.Pd; Advisor II; DzulFikri, S.S, M.Pd.Key words: speaking difficulties, learning strategies, good students, fourth semester.Speaking is the most important skill among other skills because people who know English tend to use it in speaking. However, it is not always an easy thing for the people who use English as foreign language, especially in speaking. They face some difficulties in learning speaking. It also happened to good students. They face some difficulties, and they had their own strategies to solve it. The objectives of the research are to describe (1)speaking difficulties which faced by good students (2) the learning strategies used by good students to solve speaking difficulties. The research design of the research belongs to a qualitative research in term of descriptive qualitative method. The setting of the research was at fourth semester of University of Islam Malang. The subjects of the research were the good Englishstudents who have good speaking ability at fourth semester of University of Islam Malang. The data were collected from the interview with four good students of fourth semester and their speaking lecturer. The findings of this research are (1)the speaking difficulties faced by good students were making grammatical error, having difficulty in mastering specific vocabulary, having difficulty in pronuncing some words, feeling nervous, and less confidence. (2) The learning strategies that good students applied to solve speaking difficulties were looking up the dictionary, talking to the foreigner, trying to be calm, practicing speaking oftenly, watching English movies, news, videos, and talk shows, and listening to music.
