- Ma'had madinatul fata is one of the Islamic boarding schools in Banda Aceh which teaches various kinds of Islamic sciences including Arabic, including Nahwu knowledge. In learning Nahwu (grammatical of Arabic), it uses various books that are appropriate to students' abilities. The learning objectives of Nahwu in Ma'had(islamic boarding school) are that the students are able to understand the grammatical of Nahwu, to read Arabic texts and to understand them. But in reality, most of them are not able to read Arabic text properly. Therefore, researchers want to make a research about student's “Problems in Learning Nahwu Knowledge at the Dayah Madinatul Fata”. The purpose of this study is to find out how to apply Nahwu learning and find out the problems faced by students in the learning process in the ma'had. In this study, researchers used descriptive analysis method. While to collect data, researcher distributed questionnaires to students, conducted interviews with some teachers, and observed research fields. In the end of this study can conclude the results that the teachers used several learning methods that are in accordance with the material being taught, and the students feel happy with the method being taught. Teachers are also very knowledgeable about the material taught,to motivate students and master the class well. Morever, they are able to help students to understand the lesson well. Some other problems encountered in Nahwu learning, among others, the most important is the limited availability of learning time, then the lack of students asking questions that have not been understood. Besides, the student are not given a lot of tasks and the method used is not various. learning media also limited and the last is the lack of interest of students in learning the lesson that have been taught.
