- This paper is the result of a study of the Journal Dialog is a journal containing research and religious studies. The problems studied were identified recency of literature used in writing a scientific journal with an analysis of the literature obsolescence and half life as one aspect of bibliometric. This research is expected to provide a thorough overview of the development of the journal Dialog, especially in the use of literature supporting scientific activities and become inputs to the library in the provision of the relevant literature. This study shows that over the last ten years the literature used in journal writing, relatively recently, where the age of the cited literature is in the range of 7 years with a half life of 15 years.
