- Indexing is conducted by the librarians for information retrieval of library collection. The failure in indexing process can obstruct the information retrieval. There is a confusion in indexing process including verbal and non-verbal. This article aims to explain indexing language implementation in SLiMS software. A descriptive research was conducted by using SLiMS 8 Akasia software, Windows 8 operating system, Daftar Tajuk Subjek Perpustakaan Nasional Indonesia (Indonesian National Library Subject List), and Dewey Decimal Classification. The results showed that the vocabulary control feature of SLiMS 8 Akasia can be utilized for index language implementation. This is possible since SLiMS 8 Akasia has the ability to make a cross reference structure.
