  • Scientific journals are a primary source of information that is very important. However, until now there has been no study comparing the characteristics of journals and collaboration of authors from the “Khizanah Al Hikmah (KAH)” Journal, the “BACA” Journal and the “Berkala Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi (BIPI)” Journal, in a certain period. Even though the journals have been accredited. The study aims to determine the growth of articles published on those journals; the number of collaborations; the degree of collaboration; and collaboration between institutions and gender. The method used in this study is the bibliometric method. From the results of the study, it was revealed that during the 2014-2018 period the number of articles published in the three journals totalled 218 titles with 81 KAH composition titles (37.15%), BACA 58 titles (26.60%) and BIPI 79 titles (36.23%). When compared between KAH, BACA and BIPI, all three journals during 2014 - 2018 were dominated by articles written by single authors, with the highest percentage was KAH (67,90%), followed by BIPI (56.96%) and in the third position was BACA (53.44%). This was reinforced by the value of the degree of collaboration which averages for KAH 0.32, BACA 0.46 and BIPI 0.44. Most authors are authors who work at the institution where the journal is published. Male authors 193 (53.32%) dominated compared to female authors 169 (46.68%). This was supposed to be the female author who gets many obstacles because they still have to take care of their family, children and husband.
