- Background: Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease which is allegedly the most widely spread inthe world. According International Leptospirosis Society (2005) Indonesia is one country witha fairly high incidence of leptospirosis between 2.5% -16.45% or 7.1% and a mortality rankedthird in the world while it’s in there RT 09 Dusun Koang leptospirosis cases as much as 4people, 2 of them died.Aim: To determine the effect of health education on knowledge about the prevention ofLeptospirosis in RT 09 Dusun Koang Trimulyo Jetis Bantul, Yogyakarta. Methods: The study is a quantitative method of quasi experiment using plan Non-equivalentcontrol group. The study population were 60 respondents in the sample were 30 respondentswere taken by purposive sampling method. Research instrument in the form of a questionnaireenclosed with the validity and reliability. Data analysis method using correlation techniquesWilcoxon.Results: Results of the Wilcoxon test in the intervention group showed that the Z count = -1.555 with P value 0.120 > = 0.05 means no changes in the prevention of leptospirosissignificant knowledge in the intervention group. These results indicate that health educationabout leptospirosis can’t change the knowledge of prevention of leptospirosis. Conclusion: Health education about leptospirosis does not significantly affect the knowledgeprevention of leptospirosis.Keywords: Leptospirosis Health Education, Knowledg
