- Background: The diarrhea disease is one of health problem in Indonesian, this problem iscaused the level of this sickness still high to cause death especially at the children under fiveyears old. Based on data from Department of Health Sleman 2012 showed number of patientswith diarrhea at toddlers in Sendangrejo village total of 220 toddlers. Data from healthcenter showed that incidence of diarrhea at toddlers in Sendangrejo village for 56 toddlers.The purpose of this study to know the association between personal hygiene and density offlies with the incidence of diarrhea at toddlers in Sendangrejo village, Minggir districts, SlemanRegency.Methods: The study used type of observational analytic resech with used a cross sectionalapproach. The population in this study were 409 toddlers. Sample taken were 80 toddlers.The technique of sampling was proportional cluster random sampling. The date was collectedby interview and observations used a questionnaire and fly grill. Analysis of the data used chisquare with รก: 0.05 and 95% CI.Results: Based on statistical test there was association between personal hygiene (RP =5,811, p= 0,005 and 95%CI=1,359-24,851) with diarrhea at toddlers and there was noassociation between density of flies (RP: 1,327, p : 0,744 dan 95% CI : 0,463-3,797) withdiarrhea at toddlers in Sendangrejo village, Districts Minggir, Sleman Regency.Conclusion: From this study it can be concluded that there was association between personalhygiene with incidence of diarrhea at toddlers and there was no association between thedensity of flies with diarrhea at toddlers in Sendangrejo Village, Districts Minggir, SlemanRegency.Key words: diarrhea, personal hygiene, density of flies
