  • The research describes teaching listening using mime stories .technique at the eighth grade of MTs Modern Puteri Cindai Alus Martapura of South Kalimantan academic year 2017/2018. The problem of the research are: 1) how does the teacher use mime stories technique in teaching listening? and 2) how is the students’ response when teacher teaches listening using mime stories technique in teaching English listening at the Eighth Grade Of MTs Modern Puteri Cindai Alus Martapura academic year 2017/2018? The subject of the research are one English teacher and all students at the eighth grade of MTs Modern Cindai Alus Martapura with the total number 45 students. The object, so the research is the process of teaching listening using mime stories technique and the students’ responses towards the teacher use mime stories technique at the eighth grade MTs Modern Puteri Cindai Alus Martapura South Kalimantan academic year 2017/2018. To collect the data the researcher uses the technique of observation, interview and documentary. All of the data that has been collected are processed using descriptive qualitative method. The result of the research shows that the use of mime stories as a technique in teaching listening at the eighth grade of MTs Modern Puteri Cindai Alus Martapura is good because it can improve, increase and make the classroom a lot of fun. The teacher uses pre activity, while activity and post activity in teaching listening process. The interview shows that most of students like listening because the teacher teaches listening using mime stories technique.
