Keywords: Technology, English Lecturers, English The problem statement of this research are: what are the lecturers’ perception about using technology in teaching English in the classroom and what are the factors that influence the lecturers’ perception. The subject of this research is 14 English lecturers who teach English in English department at IAIN Antasari Banjarmasin. The object of this research is the technology used by English lecturers in teaching English and the factors that influence the lecturers’ perception. To collect the data, the writer used some techniques such as observation and questionnaire. Data processing in this research is divided into two phases: editing and interpreting. Then, all the data are analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The result of this research stated that the lecturers’ perception about technology is positive. Almost all of the lecturers used technology in teaching. By using technology, it can assist teaching in explaining the lesson to build better understanding of the materials, can help them in teaching and learning process easier, more effective and more interesting. The technology also make the students more interested and motivated. Factors that influence lecturers’ perception are limited computer skill, limited time, LCD’s does not work, no electricity, lack of internet connection in classroom, understanding aspect of knowledge about technology, insufficient computer facilities.
