In this research, researcher want to know what errors are made by the Eighth grade Students in translating descriptive text from Indonesian into English of MTs Muhammadiyah 3 Al-Furqan school year 2015/2016. The objective of the research is to describe the types of errors for improving students’ ability in translating descriptive text from Indonesian into English of MTs Muhammadiyah 3 Al-Furqan Banjarmasin school year 2015/2016. The subject of this research is 256 students of eighth grade of MTs Muhammadiyah 3 Al-Furqan Banjarmasin school year 2015/2016. In this research, researcher takes 64 students of eighth grade of MTs Muhammadiyah 3 Al-Furqan Banjarmasin. The object of this research is students’ errors in translating descriptive text from Indonesian into English. To collect the data, the researcher uses test and interview. Then, all the data are analyzed by using descriptive research methodology. The result of this research states that the highest category of students’ errors is grammar errors with the percentage 71.09% especially in bound morpheme –s/-es at 15, 76% because the students do not understand well yet about tenses that is used in the present or when they want to translate descriptive text. English grammar is different with Indonesian grammar where the students still influenced by their mother tongue in transferring the language. The implication for language teaching is that the teacher gives more attention to how teach grammar especially bound morpheme –s/-es to the students.
