This research describes about teaching and learning listening through English songs at the eleventh grade of Islamic senior high school pertasi kencana NU Haruyan South Kalimantan academic year 2012/2013. The problems of the research are: 1) How does the teacher use English songs in teaching listening? and 2) How are the students’ responses toward the use of songs in teaching and learning English listening at the Eleventh Grade Of Islamic Senior High School Pertasi Kencana NU Haruyan South Kalimantan academic year 2012/2013? The Subjects of the research are one English tearcher and all of the eleventh grade students of Islamic Senior High School Pertasi Kencana NU Haruyan with the total number of 62 students. The object of the research is the process of the teaching and learning of listening through English song and the students’ responses toward the use of English songs at the eleventh grade of Islamic Senior High school Pertasi Kencana NU Haruyan South Kalimantan academic year 2012/2013. To collect the data, the researcher uses the techniques of observation, questionnaire, and documentary. Then all of the data that have been collected are processed using descriptive qualitative method. The result of the research shows that the use of English songs in teaching and learning listening at the Eleventh grades of Islamic Senior High School Pertasi Kencana NU Haruyan is very good. The teacher uses pre-activity, while-activity and post-activity in teaching and learning listening process. The questionnaire shows that most of students did not like English and listening to song but for the technique the teacher uses, they strongly agree if the teacher teaches listening through English songs.
