Pd The research describes the students’ ability in using imperative sentences in procedural text at the tenth grade students of Islamic Senior High School Al Istiqamah Banjarmasin academic year 2011/2012. The statements of the problems in this research are: How is the students’ ability in using imperative sentences in procedural text at the tenth grade students of Islamic Senior High School Al Istiqamah Banjarmasin and What factors which influence the students’ ability in using imperative sentences in procedural text at the tenth grade students of Islamic Senior High School Al Istiqamah Banjarmasin. The subject of the research is 40 students at the tenth grade students of Islamic Senior High School Al Istiqamah Banjarmasin academic year 2011/2012. The object of this research is the students’ ability in using imperative sentences in procedural text and the factors influence the students’ ability in using imperative sentences in proceural text at the tenth grade students of Islamic Senior High School Al Istiqamah Banjarmasin academic year 2011/2012. To collect data the writer uses some techniques: written test, questionnaire, observation, interview and documentary. Data processing in this research is divided into five phases: editing, classification, scoring, tabulating and data interpretation. Then, all the data are analyzed by using descriptive qualitative and conclude by inductive method. The result of this research indicates that the students’ ability in using imperative sentences in procedural text at the tenth grade students of Islamic Senior High School Al Istiqamah Banjarmasin academic year 2011/2012 is in poor category with the mean score 51,125. This study also found out that the most factors influence the students’ ability in using imperative sentences in procedural text at the tenth grade students of Islamic Senior High School Al Istiqamah Banjarmasin such as the students’ interest, teacher educational background, and students’ facilities.
