Keywords: Speaking, Ability, Debate, English The problem of this research are : How is students’ speaking ability in English Debate Club at Darul Hijrah Boarding School for Girls? and what are the factors that influence the students’ speaking ability in English Debate Club at Darul Hijrah Boarding School for Girls?. The subjects of this research were the students who joined English Debate Club at tenth and eleventh grade students, which consisted of 15 students in academic year 2012/2013. Meanwhile, the object of this research is the Students’ Speaking Ability in English Debate Club at Darul Hijrah Boarding School for Girls Banjar Regency including grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, fluency and pronunciation. The data are collected through speaking test, questionnaire, interview, observation and documentary. Data in this research are processed through editing, coding, classifying, tabulating and data interpreting. The data are analyzed by using descriptive qualitative analysis. The result of this research states that the students’ speaking ability in English Debate Club at Darul Hijrah Boarding School for Girls Banjar regency is in fair category because the average of the test result is 54.4. the students ability in grammar is in poor category, the students’ ability in vocabulary is in poor category, the students’ ability in comprehension is in fair category, the students’ ability in fluency is in poor category, the students’ ability in pronunciation is in poor category. The influential factor of student’s scores are students learning activity is average activity, student’s interest in English is average interest, teacher skill in teaching English is skillful, English that owned by the students is enough and school environment and families support them enough.
