- The reseach describes the ability and the common mistakes of students in pronouncing noun inflectional ending for plural noun. The statements of the problems in this research are: how is the students’ ability in pronouncing noun inflectional ending of plural noun at the third semester in English Department of Antasari State Institute for Islamic Studies academic year 2014/2015 and what are the common mistakes found in students’ noun inflectional ending of plural noun pronunciation at the third semester in English Department of Antasari State Institute for Islamic Studies academic year 2014/2015. The population of this research is all of English department students who are at third semester and the sample of this research is 43 students. To collect the data the writer just uses oral test. Then, all the data are analyzed descriptively quantitatively and concluded inductively. The result of the research shows that English department students’ ability in pronouncing noun inflectional ending for plural noun is in fair category with mean score 56.47. The result also shows the students’ mistakes in pronouncing noun inflectional ending for plural noun. The common mistakes occur in words end with voiced sounds which should be pronounced with allomorph /z/ where all of the students (100%) mispronounce the final –s.
