The subject of this research is all students at the&#xD; sixth semester of English Department academic year 2013/2014 and the writer&#xD; takes the whole subject as object that will be taken from three classes by total 87&#xD; students. To collect the data the writer use objective test. Then, all the data are&#xD; analyzed descriptively and quantitatively and concluded inductively.&#xD; The result of this research shows that the students&#x2019; ability to infer the texts&#xD; in reading comprehension is fair category with mean score 55.4. This research&#xD; also shows that the students&#x2019; difficulty to infer the texts in reading comprehension&#xD; based on the result of the test is the question number 5 is the most difficult one of&#xD; 5 questions with 81 students could not answer correctly that included into difficult&#xD; category. It can be seen from the table 4.3, the question number 5 is mostly&#xD; difficult question (ID = 0.074).
