  • This study aims to improve students' activeness and understanding on buffer material materials using PBL (Poblem Based Learning) modeled by audiovisual media. The research subjects are 27 students of class XI MIA 1 MAN Amuntai. This classroom action research is conducted in 2 cycles through the stages of planning, action, evaluation and observation, and reflection. Data are collected using observation instruments, test results, and questionnaires. Data analysis using qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. and cycle II shows: (1) there is an increase of teacher activity and student activity from good to be good in material of buffer solution using PBL model (Problem Based Learning) aided audiovisual media have improvement. Viewed from 13 aspects of observation there is only 1 aspect that experienced a decrease, that is understanding the problems raised in the LKS, (2) Students' learning outcomes in buffer material materials using PBL (Problem Based Learning) model audiovisual media aided. The completeness of the students 'learning achievement is 11.11%, the result of cycle I is 77.77% and the second cycle is 88.88%, (3) The students' response to the learning of the buffer material materials using the PBL (Problem Based Model) Learning) assisted audiovisual media showed a positive response.
