  • Harvard Step Up Test (HSUT), one of the maximum body capability tests, would cause the increased of oxygen requirement along with hematology, cardiovascular and breathing changes. The influence of HSUT on the amount of red blood cell in the side blood circulation was analyzed. The HSUT was utilized to calculate the number of red blood cell (in million/ cubic mm blood) on 25 men (between 17-44 years old). The test was taken prior and 3 minutes after physical activities. The data was analyzed using “t” distribution in pairs. The amount of the red blood cell after physical activities was 7.934.800/mm3 blood, which was more than the number of red blood cell prior to physical activities (5.650.000/mm3 blood). It was concluded that observation on 25 examination subjects with HSUT treatment showed the increasing of the quantity of red blood cell, after physical activities. David R. Lamb examination (1984), proved the increasing of blood volume after physical activities including 12% red blood cell increased. The muscle work activity with HSUT treatment would cause the increasing of red blood cell.
