Prevalensi Kanker Kolorektal di Rumah Sakit Immanuel Bandung Periode Januari 2005 ─ Desember 2007

  • Colorectal cancer is the most common gastrointestinal malignancy. In Indonesia, colorectal cancer is on the sixth position of ten malignant cancers mostly suffered. The data from the Health Department show the prevalence 1.8 per 100,000 population. The aim of this study was to describe some data concerning colorectal cancer recorded at Immanuel Hospital Bandung. The data include prevalence, gender, age, job based distribution, the highest predilection of colorectal cancer, the stadium in which  patients came to hospital, and the therapy that was given. This retrospective study is a descriptive observational study with a cross sectional design upon the data of colorectal cancer patients taken from their medical records at Immanuel Hospital Bandung from January 2005-December 2007. The obtained data were studied within May-June 2008. The  colorectal cancer patients at Immanuel Hospital Bandung during that period were 63 people. The study has showed an increasing number of colorectal cancer patients each year, women (57.1%) affected more than men (42.9%). The age of the group of the highest incidence of colorectal cancer was between 61-70 years old (23.8%). Colorectal cancer was found much among housewives (27.0%). The highest predilection of colorectal cancer happened in the rectum (34.9%). A lot of patients came to the hospital at stadium B (30.1%). A lot of patients did the operation of colostomy (25.4%).
