  • Warning label created for the purposes, in effort to protect public health against impacts caused by consumption of cigarettes (Bab II, Pasal 2 PP No. 19, 2003). The use of warning message labels is part of the education process to provide information to consumers so as to influence consumer attitudes, goals, and habits (Stewart, Folkes, & Martin, 2001 h. 335). Whereas, since the use of warning label labels currently used in Indonesia, the number of smokers continues to increase. So this study was conducted to determine the effect of fear appeal component in the warning labels of cigarette packaging to the attitude of smokers This research is used to find the effect from components of message from warning label to smokers perception. This study used a quantitave research method with quasi-experiment design method. The population in this study were all man with age from 25 to 44 years old and they are have been married or have been married and they have a children in Malang. The subjects used in this study were 20 subjects for experiments groups and 20 other subjects for control groups. The results showed that there are significant differences value in experiment group and control group. This mean there is a effect from warning label to smokers perception.
