- Background: Human Immunodeficiency Virus or HIV is a virus that attacks the body's immune system. At an advanced stage, if HIV is not treated properly it will develop into AIDS or Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome. Indonesia is the 5th most at risk of HIV/AIDS in Asia. In an epidemiological study, it is stated that people with HIV/AIDS are older with various comorbidities such as hypertension, COPD, and diabetes are risk factors for severe forms of COVID- 19. Meanwhile, WHO reports limitations on the distribution of ARVs, especially in developing countries and disruptions related to travel restrictions related to access to drug collection to health facilities. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an assessment of adherence during the pandemic and which population will be a concern to reduce non-adherence to therapy. Objective : Find out the relationship between education level, gender, opportunistic infections, drug taking supervisors with ARV therapy adherence in PLWHA during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: Retrospective study using secondary data from medical records at RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang with a sampling technique is purposive sampling. Sample adherence was determined by the ARV Pharmacy Refill Adherence formula. The analysis technique used chi-square and backward elimination logistic regression method. Results: The independent variables that affect adherence are gender and drug taking supervisor (PMO). Conclusion: The risk factors that affect ARV adherence are gender and the presence of PMO. Efforts are needed to improve adherence to ARV consumption, especially in male PLWHA and those who do not have PMO.
