Daftar Isi:
- The purpose of this research is to know the difference between the heat tolerance coefficient (HTC) and sweatingrate (SR) of lactating Crossbred Friesian Holstein in various lactation periods and difference altitudes. The research was conducted in highland and lowland areas of Pujon subdistrict, Malang regency with an altitude of ± 1100 meters above sea level and Gampengrejo subdistrict, Kediri regency with an altitude of ± 160 meters above sea level. The methods in this research were case study and collect data with purposive sampling. Data was analyzed by student t-test (unpaired). The results showed that the altitude of the place gave a significant effect on body temperature, respiratory frequency, HTC, sweating rate, temperature, humidity and THI value. The body temperature on the plains of made 37.4±0.95oC which was significantly lower (P<0.01) than lowland 38.95±0.51 oC. Respiratory rate of Friesian Holstein Crossbred in the high altitude 38.15±5.34 (times/min) were known significantly lower (P<0.01) than Friesian Holstein Crossbreed in the Lowland 71.35±12.50 (times/minutes). HTC of Friesian Holstein Crossbreed on a plateau were 2.64±0.25 and in the Lowlands 4.12±0.55. Sweating rate of the Friesian Holstein Crossbred on the plateau and lowland is 110.04±15.54 g/m2/h and 265.06±20.06g/m2/h (P<0.01) Temperature and humidity in the Highlands is 22.93±3.58 oC and Moisture 77 ± 9.53% and in the lowland is 29.47±2.24 oC with moisture 78.44±13.69%. THI on the plateau is 69.80±2.96 in the lowland is 83.67±3.93, so it can be said that in the lowland of cows experiencing an uncomfortable environmental condition and experiencing mild stress conditions.
