  • Extension workers‟ performance in Indonesia is a response or individual act on the work success achieved by individuals in an actual way inside an organization according to tasks and responsibilities given and done effectively and efficiently in a specific period of time (Bahua et al, 2010). One of the government efforts in supporting the action is establishing the Law No. 16 of 2006 about the System of Extension Worker, Fishery, and Forestry (UU-SP3K), which mandates extension department alongside extension workers. In a program implementation, there must be some weaknesses. An effort that must be done is conducting a research on evaluation of extension workers‟ performance on Batu Go Organic program that includes extension workers as the guide and farmers as the program target. This evaluation was performed to measure how far extension workers‟ performance on organic farming program in Batu City run according to the initial goals. What makes the researcher interested in doing this research is because extension workers at Batu Subdistrict hold two responsibilities. In addition to Batu Go Organic program, they also handle non-organic farming; for example, organization. It is worth investigating whether extension workers‟ performance was optimum in increasing farmers‟ income based on the Government Rule on Farming if they hold those two responsibilities. This evaluation covered extension workers‟ performance based on their roles and functions, impacts of Batu Go Organic Program on social and economy aspects, and sustainability of the program. Sumberejo Village and Temas Village are two villages situated in Batu City that follow Batu Go Organic program established by Farming Department of Batu City. In those villages, there is terrain 10 Ha in width that is used as the example of Batu Organic Program. That area is used by 37 farmers as the member of Sri Anom Mulyo IV farming community at Sumberejo Village, and 3 farmers from Tanuse farming community at Temas Village. To date, the program is in the development process and partly successful. Therefore, the researcher conducted a research on evaluation of extension workers‟ performance on the implementation of organic farming at Sumberejo Village and Temas Village. Extension workers‟ performance that was evaluated based on 5 activity factors resulted in the following result. Material dissemination was in high category with the percentage of 88%; implementation of farming extension method was in high category with the percentage of 88%; development of organization was in average category with the percentage of 56%; growth and development of economy was in average category with the percentage of 46%; and increase of productivity was in high category with the percentage of 80%. Besides, the farmers responded well regarding the sustainability of Batu Go organic program with the percentage of 80% or on average score of 3.41 out of the maximum score of 33. The program is feasible to be continued since from five factors, three factors (material dissemination, implementation of extension method, increase of productivity) were categorized into high category, while two factors (growth and development of organization) were classified into average category. Therefore, it can be concluded that evaluation of extension workers‟vii performance on the implementation of Batu Organic Program has run effectively, yet is remains some things to improve.
