- The purpose of this research was to determine the fresh semen quality and frozen semen production of simmental bulls at different age level in Ungaran Artificial Insemination Center. Eight Simmental bulls were divided into four groups of age, those were 3, 4, 7 and 8 years old. Two numbers of bull at each graup were assumed as the replication. The research parameter included semen volume, pH, mass motility, motility of spermatozoa, concentration of spermatozoa, number of spermatozoa and number of spermatozoa motil. Data obtained on this research were analyzed using Nested Design, if there was difference between the treatments then tested using Least Significant Difference (LSD). The increasing of age (3, 4, 7, and 8 years old) on Simmental bulls have given a significant influence of semen volume (P<0.01), motility of spermatozoa (P<0.01), concentration of spermatozoa (P<0.01), number of spermatozoa (P<0.01) and number of spermatozoa motil (P<0.05), the whereas of mass vi motility and also pH (P>0.05), after 3 years old production of frozen semen on decrease. The result showed that the increasing of age increase in semen volume, but decrease the motility of spermatozoa and concentration of spermatozoa, but for pH and mass motility showed no difference and the number of motile spermatozoa decreased after age of 3 years and significan at 7 years old.
