The purpose of this research was to determine the effect Pluchea indica L. leaves etanol extract as antibacterial against Staphylococcus aureus and Esherichia coli that caused subclinical mastitis disease in dairy cattle. The materials used in this research were Staphylococcus aureus, Esherichia coli, Plunchea indica L. leaves and iodips. The method used in this experiment with 4 treatment and 6 replication. The treatment used in this research were 40% (P1), 50% (P2) and 60% (P3) for Pluchea indica L. leaves etanol extract and iodips 10% (P0) as a control. The result showed that Pluchea indica L. leaves etanol extract give highly significant effect (P<0.01) on inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Esherichia coli bacteria, so the results were continued by BNT test analysis, because there were differences among variables. Pluchea indica L. leaf etanol extract concentration of 50% and 60% were used in this study have been able to inhibit to growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Esherichia coli, but concentration of 40% were not able to keep up the strength inhibition of iodips. Based on the results of inhibition Staphylococcus aureus and Esherichia coli, it suggest to use cosentration 50% of Pluchea indica L. leaves etanol extract as a teat dipping in dairy cattle.
