- The decrease in sperm quality is one of the problems in the production of frozen semen, so that necessary stimulation to suppress the rate of decline in sperm quality. This study aims to know the effect of egg yolk on the quality of liquid semen of Friesian Holstein. This research was carried out at Laboratory of Animal Reproduction University of Brawijaya Malang, on 17th Sept until 18th Nov 2014. Research was to find the effect of liquid semen of Friesian Holstein during chilled preservation. Semen divided into three treatment (P1=CEP2+10% egg yolk, P2=CEP2+20% egg yolk, P3=CEP2+25% egg yolk). Used experimental laboratory used method Randomized Block Design. The result show that motility, viability and abnormality in all treatment no significant different (p>0,05) and used to compare total motile sperm count with expected value 40 million cells/ml showed best of treatment is CEP2 + 10 % egg yolk. The suggestion is used extender of CEP2 with added 10 % egg yolk to maintain sperm quality.
