- Research was conducted at the broiler farms used closed house system which had a partnership with “Semesta Mitra Sejahtera (SMS)” Ltd. The study was aimed to investigate the capital, costs of production, revenues, profits, R/C ratio, BEP, and liquidity, solvency and rentability of broiler farms had used closed house system in partnership SMS Ltd. Three broiler farmers small-scale (controlled 9,429 birds), medium-scale (held 18,000 birds) and large-scale (owned 30,000 birds) were obtained as broiler farms partnership with SMS Ltd. The method used in this researched was case study. The data were collected from 21st August to 21st September 2014 by survey method. Primary data were collected by in-depth interviews with plasma farmers and staff of company using the structured questionnaire. Secondary data were gathered from related institutions the partnership company. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis applying economic equations such as profit, R/C ratio, BEP, liquidity, solvency and rentability. Results found that medium-scale farm was more profitable compared to large and small-scale based on the economic indicators. It was IDR 63,261/bird vs IDR 52,694/bird and IDR 71,764/bird of capital; IDR 15,708/kg vs IDR 15,450/kg and IDR 15,540/kg of production cost; IDR 17,601/kg vs IDR 17,254/kg and IDR 17,226/kg of revenue; IDR 1,894/kg vs IDR 1,804/kg and IDR 1,687/kg of profit; 1.121 vs 1.117 and 1.109 of R/C ratio; IDR 15,708/kg vs IDR 15,450/kg and IDR 15,539/kg of BEP. However based on the financial ratios, small-scale was higher capability (CR 1.51) towards current liabilities than medium-scale (CR 1.38) and large-scale (CR 1.37). Solvency of medium-scale was better (DAR 19.08%) compared to small-scale (DAR 21.88%) and large-scale (DAR 27.18%). It was higher rentability of large-scale (ROI 22.12%) than small-scale (ROI 18.42%) and medium-scale (ROI 16.75%). Small-scale plasma broiler farmer was recommended to increase his broiler production capacity, medium-scale farmer in order to sustain the already good performance and large-scale farmer to repair further the still poor broiler farm management.
