Uji Daya Antihelmintik Ekstrak Etanol Daun Asam Jawa (Tamarindus Indica) Terhadap Cacing Ascaris Suum Secara In Vitro

- Asam Jawa leaves contains flavonoid, tanin and alkaloid which is a substance than has the properties of anthelmintics.The purpose of this study is to determine how much anthelmintics efficacy of asam jawa extract (Tamarindus indica) against Ascaris suum in vitro and to determine the lethal concentration 100 (LC100) and lethal time (LT100) of asam jawa extract (Tamarindus indica). This study was a laboratory experimental research with true experimental design post test only control group design. The subject of this study is Ascaris suum derived from animal slaughter house. The research was used asam jawa extract (Tamarindus indica) with concentration of 30%, 40%, and 50% and PBS 1% as negative control and pyrantel pamoate 1% as positive control. Pyrantel pamoate is used as a positive control because it is the first- line therapy of ascariasis. The result showed that the LC100 of asam jawa extract is 55.2% while the LT100 of asam jawa extract is 9.625 hours. It can be concluded that the extract of asam jawa (Tamarindus indica) has the anthelmintics efficacy against ascaris suum.
