This disease can be treated by antifungal agents, but nowadays, Candida albicans is more resistant to antifungal agent, especially amphotericyn-B and fluconazole. Based on that condition, alternative treatment against Candida albicans is needed. One of that alternatives is using medicinal plant that has antifungal effect, such as black cumin (Nigella sativa L.) that has active components like thymoquinone, thymol, and carvacrol. Objective of this experiment was to know antifungal effect of black cumin ethanol extract to Candida albicans growth in vitro using agar dilution method. This experiment used agar dilution method to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). Black cumin ethanol extract was made by maceration extraction method with 90% soluble ethanol. This experiment used 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, and 10% extract concentration. Result of this experiment showed that fungal colony growth decreased at 2% concentration and not seen at 10% concentration (MIC). Result of Kruskal Wallis statistic test showed significant difference between colony growth on each concentration (p = 0,000). Result of Mann-Whitney statistic test showed differences between concentrations, except between 2% and 4% concentration (there is no difference). Result of Spearman statistic test showed significant correlation between the variables (p = 0,000) with opposite direction (R = -0,989). The conclusion of this study is black cumin ethanol extract has antifungal effect to Candida albicans in vitro.</description><date>2015-12-22</date><type>Thesis:Thesis</type><type>PeerReview:NonPeerReviewed</type><type>Book:Book</type><language>eng</language><identifier>http://repository.ub.ac.id/125667/1/6._BAB_3.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>eng</language><identifier>http://repository.ub.ac.id/125667/2/7._BAB_4.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>eng</language><identifier>http://repository.ub.ac.id/125667/2/5._BAB_2.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>eng</language><identifier>http://repository.ub.ac.id/125667/3/8._BAB_5.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>eng</language><identifier>http://repository.ub.ac.id/125667/4/9._BAB_6.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>eng</language><identifier>http://repository.ub.ac.id/125667/5/10._BAB_7.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>eng</language><identifier>http://repository.ub.ac.id/125667/6/11._Daftar_Pustaka.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>eng</language><identifier>http://repository.ub.ac.id/125667/7/1._Cover_%2B_Daftar_Isi.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>eng</language><identifier>http://repository.ub.ac.id/125667/8/2._Lembar_Pengesahan.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>eng</language><identifier>http://repository.ub.ac.id/125667/9/4._BAB_1.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>eng</language><identifier>http://repository.ub.ac.id/125667/10/3._Abstrak_Indonesia_%2B_Inggris.pdf</identifier><identifier> Maghfiroh, DindaOktia (2015) Efek Antifungi Ekstrak Etanol Biji Jintan Hitam (Nigella sativa L.) terhadap Pertumbuhan Candida albicans secara In Vitro dengan Metode Dilusi Agar.
