- Mayor Election (Pilwali-Ina.red) in Malang has been successfully held on May 23, 2013. This study will examine the victory of Anton-Sutiaji in Pilwali. Anton-Sutiaji are cadres of NU who are nominated by the political party, Gerindra and PKB. PKB coalition with Gerindra made coordination to win Anton-Sutiaji. A split-up in PDI-P made a big opportunity for PKB and Gerindra to win in Pilwali. PKB and Gerindra used floating mass to add support to Anton- Sutiaji. Anton-Sutiaji victory would be examine through the conception of social capital by Pierre Bourdieu. Capital is classified into five parts: social capital, symbolic capital, economic capital, cultural capital and political capital. Social capital would be examine by business client of Abah Anton. Symbolic capital examine through figure of Abah Anton toward Anton-Sutiaji victory. Economic capital would analysed through the political-cost of Anton-Sutiaji. Political capital would analysed through political party of Anton-Sutiaji, PKB and Gerindra. Cultural capital viewed from NU embraced by Anton-Sutiaji, and the corcern on the Chinese community. In addition to using the conception of capital as a principal analysis, the researchers also used the theory of political strategy as supporting theory. The method used is descriptive qualitative research. The data was collected through interviews and literature. The capital Anton-Sutiaji owned are able to fully used and supported by the use of appropriate political strategy that made them won in Pilwali. Innovation of promotion that conducted by Anton-Sutiaji like pilgrimages tourism and repair pe ple house program also affects the Anton-Sutiaji victory. Beside that, there are limitations of the theory proposed by Bourdieu to explain the victory of Anton- Sutiaji, due to the fact on the field indicated more oriented to political strategies Anton-Sutiaji. For future studies, the researchers recommend that research conducted under the eyes of social exchange theory.
