- War is an irresponsible action that causes much harm on the environment and it has a bad impact of all the living being. Technological advances in the modern era which is facilitated human to destroy the environmental through war. War has been the major contribution to make environmental degradation. This environmental problem is portraying in Fury movie. The objective of the research is divided into two points: (1) To find out what are the methods of war that threat environment as depicted in Fury movie. (2) To find out the impacts of war on environment as depicted in Fury movie. The writer use ecocriticism theory focusing on pollution to analyze environmental degradation which is done human through war. The writer also uses movies studies to support the main theory to analyze the data. The result of the study shows that pollution is the major impact of war. There are many methods of war such as burning of forest, use of tank, nonrenewable fuels and landmine that causing pollution in certain area that is air and soil. Air pollution that shows in the movie is the burned forest and emitted smoke from vehicle while soil pollution that shows in the movie is the use of radiologic weapon, landmine and nonrenewable fuels. Therefore, for discussion of the research, the writer used movie studies to give more explanation in each scene. The shooting techniques as the element of cinematography also used to give clearly description to the reader. The writer suggests the next researcher to use psychological approach by using the same movie. By using psychological approach, the next writer can analyze the conflict that involves Norman as the character in the movie. Norman, a soldier who was previously a text writer in the office, was forced to be the tankfiring assistant. This government policy makes Norman frustrated and eventually results the physiological disorder.
