- Koneksi matematis berkaitan dengan masalah kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa SMP pada materi kubus dan balok. Instrumen utama adalah peneliti sendiri dibantu dengan lembar tes, pedoman wawancara dan dokumentasi. Subjek terdiri dari 3 siswa SMP Negeri 1 Bringin yang memiliki tingkatan kemampuan matematika yang berbeda yakni tinggi, sedang dan rendah serta pernah mempelajari materi kubus dan balok. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ketiga subjek memiliki kemampuan koneksi matematis yang berbeda–beda. Subjek berkemampuan tinggi memiliki kesulitan dalam mengenali konsep dan prosedur matematika. Subjek berkemampuan sedang memiliki kesulitan dalam memahami konsep dan prosedur antara satu dengan yang lainnya yang ekuivalen dan subjek berkemampuan rendah memiliki kesulitan dalam mengenali konsep dan prosedur matematika, memahami prosedur antara satu dengan yang lain yang ekuivalen serta kemampuan dalam menggunakan koneksi matematika dengan ilmu bidang lain. Pada umumnya subjek mengalami kesulitan dalam mengenali konsep dan prosedur matematika. This study aims to describe the ability of mathematical connections of junior high school students on the material of cubes and beams. The main instrument is the researcher himself assisted with test sheets, interview guides and documentation. Subject consisted of 3 students of SMP Negeri 1 Bringin which have different level of mathematics ability that is high, medium and low and have studied material of cube and cuboid. The results of this study showed that the three subjects have different mathematical connection capabilities. Highly capable subjects have difficulty in recognizing mathematical concepts and procedures. medium-ability subjects of having difficulties in understanding concepts and procedures between each other are equivalent and low-ability subjects have difficulty in recognizing mathematical concepts and procedures, understanding procedures between each other equivalently as well as the ability to use mathematical connections with other fields of science. In general, subjects have difficulty in recognizing mathematical concepts and procedures. Keywords: mathematical connections, cube, cuboid
