- The aim of this study was to analyze the distribution of bottom sediments in estuary of Banyuasin. Sediment sampling conducted in February 2007 using Bottom Grab Sampler (Peterson Grab) in 40 station. Sediment samples were analyzed in the laboratory for determination of grain size and sediment statistic method was used to analyze sediment distribution.The results indicated that sediment distribution in estuary of Banyuasin generally was dominated by small size namely silt, sorting was poorly and moderately sorted; skeweness was almost symmetrical. Based on mean grain size of sediment, obtained an indication that the energy of motion of water in the estuary of the Musi and Upang much higher than estuary of the Saleh and Banyuasin, so silt fraction always in the form of suspension.
